I have had a small piece of 18mm ply knocking around for over 4 years from my skipping days and I succumbed yesterday to cutting a 150mm strip off to make a spline jig.
Simple set up from a book titled Table saw.

Brought into the kitchen overnight for glue to set, just as well with the temperature down here this morning, 45far.

I am also thinking that the jig above will possibly be useful as a former to glue up my mitred corner boxes, so the next box I will take some more pics and keep you informed.

Tell Niki I have started jigging.

I hear you...:)

Very good DW, you will see how life...at least woodworking...is much easier when you have a good jig to make the job...

Waiting to see the results

Regards

What does it do :? :? :? :?

It's for cutting slots for splines on sides of boxes...

Inspired by this jig I believe... but that one's for dovetail splines done on a router table.

Thank you fecn, I see that the box illustrated has also got splines running internally inside the mitre joint. Another jig to come!

Hi Devonwoody,

Nice, robust looking jig. I look forward to seeing the resaults of it in use.
