I have a set of 3 of the "Amtech" version of 2nd photo. On rare the occasions when I think it would be the ideal thing to use for something, they invariably prove to be too bulky for the space available! Consequently they've seen actual use about 3 times in the nearly 30 years I've had them. Fantastic tool in theory, they really do grip like crazy when they're on right, f**king useless in practice.. Unless you are adjusting track rods, obviously.
That locking adjustable looks good though. Waaaanntttt....

If you work as a service engineer and can’t carry too many tools around with you I imagine they would come in very handy?
Yes, I worked in a quite large plant with lots of equipment, and where we had to access EOT cranes with vertical steel ladders.
You soon learn not to carry much kit around.

I have quite a few of the speed wrenches in different sizes. Very handy for removing rusted rounded off stuff.
Yes agreed. Unlike say mole grips, the more pressure you apply the tighter they grip.

This is the brand I have. I think they may be the original manufacturer?

I’ve not tried them myself but these might also be handy for service engineers on the go.
Each spanner has 4 sizes.
