Been turning some spalted wood, it will be finished in oil but is it food safe?

The finish covers the wood, so that’s the bit that needs to be safe. If you ate spalted wood you would probably have a problem, but I don’t think the spalted aspect would be responsible!

Cheers, i have had a read up on it and it seems you would have to eat it, in quantities to have an effect.
I can eat much better things, like curries

I THINK it is more about breathing the dust that is the issue. (That was arubbish sentence!)
