Been watching a SIP saw on eBay for the past week. It was sat at £200 the whole time with one bid. As per usual with eBay, it shot up within the last few minutes and went for £410!! What a bargain for someone. I just don't have that amount of spare cash at the moment, I'd have paid 5/600 for it.

I should stop looking as I've seen a few bargains on there recently :?

I was watching that too - bit of rust on the top but it was not listed as a 01332, only as a 3hp saw so I wondered if I might be able to nab it cheap (it was an 01332, just not listed as such in the title). Sat at 200 until this morning then boom. Didn't bid in the end - once it got past £350 it was too much for me with other commitments at the moment, but one day, one day......

hi

not such a bargain really, unless your within easy traveling distants and can pick up yourself , collection / delivery now it's going to cost depending where you live £100ish variable upwards or down , so price is now in excess of £500, now when you got it home you got to hope nothing to much wrong with it as you got no guarantees. Don't get me wrong good luck to whowever won it , if i was temped to pay that price i would ask my self well for the extra buy new and get a guarantee.

Shop around the sip 01332 does vary by considerable amounts. I have seen them advertised for as much as £1150 , others around the £750 ish , and as low as £539 which is what i have mine ordered for, awaiting delivery on dec 2nd 2009 . hc

HI tom

Rutlands , i know a lot here don't like them , i have to speak as i find them and so far very very helpful indeed , it was there last 10% offer that price includes vat and delivered to my workshop door free . there next order arrives as i said dec 2nd then a couple of day down to me   . hc

Assuming it gets delivered and there's nothing wrong with it, then you'll be fine. All my orders from them were delivered promptly. I think the crux of people's disdain of that company are when things go wrong. Highlighted dramatically with what happened to Matthew at WH recently.

hi tom

I have no reason to think as yet it won't get delivered, or that it won't be ok , It's my first order with them, so i have to speak as i find at the mo , All my comms with them I have dealt with a guy called luke , he has been very very helpful and professional with his replies , what happened to mathew ? dare i ask . hc

It comes direct from SIP so won't be a problem, I'm heavily tempted by this myself at the moment, but can't decide about the Jet JTS 600 which is on special at Axminster.

Martin, how come you got it at £539 ? that's even better

How's the monster tool cabinet getting on

Cheers

Jed

When they had 10% off and Free Delivery, thats how. Can't beat that an it seems to come up often at Rutlands.

Well worth waiting for ! hope they do it again before Xmas, before the extra 2.5% back on the VAT :(

Jed

If it is the bargain its claimed to be...

not wanting to label the seller as a Cad, but sold 22 items with only a 87.5 % feedback !!
That reads to me "buyer beware"

heres hoping for the (un)lucky buyer.

hi jed

I'm down with flue at the moment , well i think its the effects from the swine flue *** i had recently , My tool cabinet is on hold til my new saw turn up for a few reasons , bought some bulk oak from yandles a few weeks back for the front frames and all is roughly cut drying a wee bit at the mo waiting for saw as i cant be arsed any more assembling this disa ssemble that get on your **** , the hole shop is upside down till i get the tool cabinet up and running which will clear a load of space and when i sell off the old triton work centre will clear a hole lot more space .

as chems said i placed my order for the sip01332 on there last 10% offer should be here soon . hc

ps looking forwards to there next 10% offer providing saw is ok , i'm sure it will be

To be honest I didn't realise it could be got for a little as £550ish new. I thought it retailed more like £7-900. So in that respect a bargain might not be the word. It's got some extensive surface rust, but the guy assured me there was no pitting when I contacted him. Tho he was vague. It would have been local enough to pick it up in person and I'm not shy about telling him where to stick it if it's a lemon, ebay rules or not.

Either way it's still a good price if the rust comes off easily. I think the purchaser will be happy

hi

don't get me wrong guys i have nothing against buying second hand, have done so many time, usually now i look on ebay and check second had prices first, not just on one sale item either then i research as many companies as i can find selling that item and get an across the board price and weigh second hand price and new price against each other + delivery charges on second hand as well ain't cheap on machinery prices it nearly always comes up with new prices are best . having said that when you bid you might just come up trumps , youse pay your money and takes your chances . hc
