**** no! Perfect plane to add to your collection as a example of one of the worst planes in existence. :D

I wouldn't be surprised if one day it turns out to be extremely rare for exactly that reason. Who knows, 50 years from now it might fetch a fortune at auction

please, tell us something about instructions. I bought one many years ago and I did not throw it only because I still think that I found it not useful because of my ignorance.

cheers

There were two models, #730 and #735. They were for slitting, grooving and bevelling softboard and bevelling hardboard.

Cheers

If you don't ever use it, give it to me :)

Seriously: I have been restoring old houses and around here many of the houses built in 40's and 50's have differnt sized fiberboard squares nailed to the ceiling. From time to time there are some missing or in bad shape and I have made new ones. I have only a razorblade groover for cutting the squares, but it dulls quick and isn't very easy to use.

It may be "the worst plane ever" but if you just have to work with fiberboard, it is a handy thing...

See, there was your hint right there :)

Yep - never seen a worn one, although I 've seen some with very bad storage rust.
