Somax sash clamps

Morning guys and gals

Has anyone heard of this brand before? I’ve been on the lookout for some sash clamps and a couple of somax ones have appeared for sale locally. They look old and very similar to the old record ones but has anyone any experience of these?I’ve always preferred to buy British made tools where possible but I’ve looked online and can’t seem to find any details on them.

If it is the same Somax they would be from Japan.

If the price of those was reasonable I would buy them to try out. They look decent enough.

even if they were made in China....if the price is right just buy em.....
u can never have enough clamps.....

did a bit of a glue up today.....used almost all of my 50 Stanley gripper clamps....
absolute carp....they will be sold of soon....never again....screw clamps only from now on....

The ones in the picture look pretty good. Look better than the record ones.
I have only heard of somax sawsets but they are good quality. Had a google and as Pete says they are made in japan so they should be better than most.
