I didn't buy a thing, because, as I've said, snowed in, but I looked for something in a ten year old magazine yesterday, and the show prices have only gone up by a pound, that's a little better than inflation, I think!!

Martin, I'm also interested to hear of how you get on with the Record saw. I've seen one in the flesh and, although I haven't "used" one, they do seem to be built pretty well. I was impressed with the sliding table and quality of the fence. I've only seen it working on the Buyer's Guide DVDs and there was no sign of it struggling their either.

I think perhaps that some people are too quick to judge some machinery... Axminster now sell a Jet saw with sliding table (TS600?) which looks very similar to this one and, yet, I haven't seen a bad comment made against it on this site yet...?
