A small project as an infill job

Whilst waiting for my builder to finish some other jobs, left me with some time on my to finish some other jobs.
One of the jobs waiting to be finalized are making some steps and a small floor underneath my new letterbox at the gate.
It is like putting a mini decking in, however the wife didn’t like me using original decking boards ( the ones with the grooves).
The alternative wood was easily sourced, as I had a lot of wood spare from taking the garage down, I just had to run It through the planner to get it cleaned up
Here i have put some joist in which will support the decking

The big boxes at the end are used to house the control board for the electric gate and GSM intercom, the one above is used for all the light connections and for the IP WIFI security camera, the gate has a total of 6 lights, which can all individually be operated, some of them are on a movement sensor, a timer, or on a dusk till dawn sensor (all with override capacitiy)

A railway sleeper is used as a border

All what remains to be done here, is a bit of painting and making the actual steps. The steps have to wait until i have finished the garage and i have the actual level of the groundwork

Sounds like you are busy over there !

Personally, I would have run the cabling through some conduit or similar, but that's just the neatfreak in me, not sure if it is actually necessary or not ?

Cheers, Paul

No need for trunking there (They are bundled together accoring to the what they do, to avoid signal interfere ) where they are above ground or under the path they are in trunking.

Hi Mac,

Nice, neat job. Are you looking to put some 'non-slip' surfacing on the decking? Moss seems to build up overnight and I'd hate to think of you being sued by Postie!

Regards
John
