Slitting blade for a router.

Yes it has been spelt corectly.

Seen this tip on the aussie forum and looks a pretty handy tool. Any one here know who stock them in the UK?

Have a look at Wealden http://www.wealdentool.com/acatalog/Onl ... r_134.html This for the 'blade' you will also need an arbor. Excellent, I use it for cutting off the top of boxes.

I've already got one of those,(a biscuit cutter)

Is there anything around with a saw blade ?

Most of the model engineering suppliers will have slitting saws.

My reservations would be that a router even on its slowest setting may be too fast, there is also not a lot of "set" so the disc could rub.

In small dia have a look at the set of 3 on this page complete with arbor

As Brian says the Wealden slot cutter is your best bet. A biscuit cutter will take a 4 mm slice...the slotter, at the bottom of the list in Brian's link to Wealden, only has a 1.5 mm "kerf".
