In my experience, even the better saws don't cut accurately, all due to the crappy mechanism they use which is always just a threaded rod that stops against a bit of flimsey metal. I'd suspect you could possibly get better results by beefing up the mechanism.

Can you show a picture of the kind of results you get? ... I have found that I can get decent enough results, which I can then pair with a chisel.
