Sketchup help

Not being a computer wizzard, can anyone help?
When I put a line length into the box in the right hand corner, I don't seem to be able get it to draw the line.

think the format is set up ok?


Any ideas what I am doing wrong?

Hi Mike, I am also relatively new at sketchup but might be able to help.

You must start drawing the line by a left hand click at the start point, then enter the dimension into the box, then pressing enter on your keyboard

Just tried that but no go...

I placed the cursor where all the isometric lines converge, left clicked, entered say 600mm and pressed enter...nothing.
Should I be on a different start point?

Have you selected the pencil tool? and started to draw the line in the direction that you want the line to go.

The start point doesn't matter

Must be doing something wrong cos I got it to work then couldn't get it to do it again.

Must be old age and the little grey cells!!!!
