OPJ on my blog mentioned that there's a new SIP version of the Charwood W650 tablesaur. On the face of it they look identical, except the SIP is £100 spendier  comes with a slightly less powerful motor (I think) and has a two year guarantee. The SIP also has just one handwheel for blade adjustment whereas the W650 has two. In addition, the Charwood will be a bit cheaper by a margin at the Yandles September show...thoughts folks? - Rob

Your links give each the same power 1500w = 2hp but at Tools Today
the SIP is a bit cheaper + free shipping (but still £50 dearer than the Charnwood) and is quoted as more powerful at 2200w (3hp)

edit: I see the Yandles advertisement gives 2hp in one place and 1700w in another :?: #-o

PS: You might like to check out eBay 290572335576 (I have no connection with the sale)

Rob - were SIP also at Yandles this year? I've seen them there in the past. Maybe you could 'barter' a deal out between Charnwood and them, if they're both in attendance in September... ;-)

Looking again, I can't really see anything between them, bar the brand name and the colour.

Roger - unfortunately, - think that Rob's 'shop (with its suspended floor) may not be able to adequately support the weight of the saw that you have linked to. I'm pretty sure it's something he's mentioned before as they are, for all the right reasons, very popular models across the UK forums.

Great minds think alike Olly...I had the very same idea for Yandles in Sept  Weight is an issue in my 'shop as the floor is suspended and fairly lightweight. Even so, I'm going to have to put in a couple of extra sleeper walls and replace the floor to boot.
They do look almost identical though. One other thing I've noticed is that the SIP has a pair of grooves machined in the table top, none in the W650 - Rob
