Similar machine to all the PT260 clones.

I bought a pair of 3mm resharpenable blades (01339) to replace the 1mm (01338) throwaway blades that are currently in the machine. Do I need a different blade lock-bar? Because of the extra thickness of the 3mm blades I can't seem to get the blades and bar into the cutter-block - or is it just me getting it wrong?

I also have a SIP 01344 p/t and need to replace the blades. Did you ever resolve this issue? I'm wondering whether to get the 1mm 01338 disposables or the 3mm 01339 resharpenables. At £52 per pair plus £6 postage they seem very expensive for what they are. Are there any alternatives?

Ask Doug at Cutting Solutions for a price. I've always found his stuff good value and an excellent service too.
He has much more stock than the website would indicate or just PM him through this forum.

Thanks guys. Toolite have the resharpenable blades for £34.95 plus £5.95 p&p. I'll give cutting solutions a call on Monday and see what they have to offer. If their standard 260mm blades fit, then they are under £18 per pair.

chippy mark - which blades did you get? Not sure from your post what you bought or where you got them.

Thanks Mark. Another possibility. I may just give SIP a call just to see whether there are any differences between the 01454's and the 01338's. SIP have them listed separately and the 01454's are half the price for some reason.
