I've been building a set of shelves for about 18 months now. Finally, I've managed to screw them together and get cascamite (as was) all over them. Hooray!
I've applied a coat of liberon pale blond shellec.. and then I read the Charlesworth book. If I take his advice I'll be doing these shelves for another ten years!
The shelves are for cook books and will get a bit of traffic. My question is, how many more coats do I need and how much sanding or wire wooling for for a secure finish.
I was going to slap another couple of coats on before giving a quick going over with wire wool.
The shelves are in ash, and not very clean ash at that (quite a few knots, some olive and the odd hole).
Any suggestions would be appreciated!
