I'll tell you what they have done to me, sh@t all over my new house just after I moved in. The house had been empty for a month while we were decorating, and being a barn on a old farm we are surrounded by wildlife so they obviously felt safe to wander out of wherever they have made their nest in the cavities.

Then we brought the cats home from the cattery, we have 3 Maine Coons, the biggest of which is bigger than a large Jack russell and weighs almost 2 stone of pure muscle. Funnily enough, since then there have been no sounds or sightings, no droppings in the cupboards or on the stairs and plenty of corpses outside the front door

Who needs Rent-a-kill when you have your own feline pest control battalion?
