You could try using a script or handwriting type font, there are loads available either in your word type programme or from free font sites on the internet.

What I do is decide what font I'm going to use depending on the recipient of the item and using a paint or wordart programme make your word/s using separate letters. I use the wordart function in MS Publisher, or there is Inkscape, Corel Draw, Serif etc, lots of photo editing programmes have a text feature you could use as well.

If you set your word as separate letters you can move and resize each letter as you want until you get the proportions and connections where you want them.

Some fonts I use regularly are :- Creampuff, Cooper Black, Monotype Corsiva.

Hope this helps. :D

A handwriting font I use is "lucida handwriting italic"

Here is an example of a plaque I made for a newly engaged couple.

Obviously some of the letters need to be edited slightly (don't cut all the way round) to keep it intact. Letters like e, g, o, a. You'll know what I mean.

Is there a font which can be used for writing with a scroll saw...instead of separate letters.. joined at the base!

If you want them joined at the base, try starting with a "slab serif" face, but you'll still need to manipulate in Inkscape, Corel Draw or similar.
