Hello

Im trying to decide which scribe cutters to buy for a spindle moulder block
Could anyone tell me what the difference is with scribe cutters with a pip and ones without.

Many thanks Pintglass

The ones with the pip just match the corresponding profile and the rebate starts where the cutter ends.

The ones without a pip are usually ones like sash windows where you have tenon of either 9 or 12mm on the flat part before you have the rebate so you dont need the pip.

I hope this makes sense.

cheers

I know this sounds stupid but with the cutters without pip do you not get a small hole/tenon showing where the scribe starts.

I dont think that makes any sense

cheers pintglass
