I have recently got an SCM T110, looks like it's from the 1990's (green).
It's been working well so far but has now started making loud whining sounds when I have a cutter installed and spindle running.
I've only been using a Whitehill shear rebate block (125mm) which was new about a week ago, could this be the cause?

Image attached of similar machine.

All this has got me thinking about servicing the machine and possibly replacing the bearings. I'm stuck for a manual for the machine (have found a similar age T130 manual).
Does anyone have a manual or experience servicing this model. I'm really happy with it but slightly alarmed by these new noises.

I should say I'm experienced woodworker and happy taking apart old machines but new to spindle moulding!

Any advice appreciated.

Thanks for the reply.
Yes I saw these on ScoSarg but assumed they were for a newer version of the machine. I'll give them a call.
I do have a hood so will mess around with it.
I have cleaned and lubricated (graphite) all the accessible moving parts, not including the bearings...

Does it change with different cutters ? Some of my cutter blocks are noisier than others it is just the wind created. Did you move the fence position or add a sub fence ?

We had the same machine when we shared a workspace. Brilliant machine, with a power feed etc.
Not much help, but they are mechanically very basic and it shouldn't be difficult to find the cause. They only have one moving part, plus the motor and electrics.
Bearing or belt drive? and it shouldn't be difficult to replace/repair as necessary, if you get the right info for dismantling.
I'd guess bearing.
