I received some new blades for my 260, but they have no slots cut in the back. I have installed them, they fit not a problem, just curious as to the purpose of the slots as they dont 'appear' to have an obvious purpose and also, it it dangerous to run the machine with blades without the slots?

thx in advance..

also does anyone know any circular saw sharpening services in the west kent area at all? Sevenoaks/tonbridge area?

By slots I take it you mean two small slots one at each end of the blade? If so they are there for adjustment on some machines like mine Elu 1161. A round head of a grub screw fits into them and can be adjusted through the cutter wedge for height adjustment.

Hello Rob,
I've got 3 sets without slots, and have used them without any problems.
It appears that only original sheppach blades have the slots but don't know the reason for them.

Alan.

thanks guys, the new blades I have dont have slots and do seem to work, but just thought I better see if there was an issue with using them without slots. as you say ALan, is only the original blades that contain the slots..

Now if I could just get the damn thing level again!!! :)

Rob
