I have just gone to use an open bottle of liberon sanding sealer and found it has got a bit thick.
What can I use to dilute it ?

Yes spirit based.

it should be meths or IPA, https://www.liberon.co.uk/product/spiri ... ng-sealer/ says brush cleaning with meths.
as for the smell, I am not sure what else goes into the sealer, but perhaps it is masking it.

Thanks, I will decant a bit and try meths.

They're usually cellulose, so cellulose thinners. Unless it's shellac, and that smells different.

You get water based, spirit & cellulose you can thin them all with the appropriate thinner but as Marcros says how it says to clean the brush is a pretty big clue.

Well, I used meths and it worked fine.
