I got a new pair of Scruffs safety boots for Christmas for workshop / garden usage.

Anyone got any socks they recommend for safety shoes and that they find comfortable for all day wear etc?

I wear Dunlop socks that I got in Lidl £5 for three pairs. Double thick soles. But they may not be tall enough up the leg for wearing with boots. I always war safety trainers as I can't get on with anything higher.

Years ago I had a pair for Dewalt boots and couldn't wait to kick them off when i got home. Just I changed to Caterpillar's and they were so comfy. I think it is worth paying close attention to the insoles. You spend most of your lifetime on your feet or in bed so I never compromise.
In response to your question, I tend to use double layered socks from my running days.

I have bridgedales that I really like. Pair I was wearing today are probably 20 years old and still good.

Good point about the insoles, I bought a pair of cheapish memory foam insoles for my boots and it made a world of difference.
So memory foam insoles, JCB socks and you're good to go!

I wear cheap steelies all day long and my feet are happy wearing Regatta hiking socks (you know, that once-cheap brand that isn't cheap anymore). They do a "professional" version for tradespeople which is cheaper and a bit harder wearing. I don't like them so much because they are a bit tight around the leg, otherwise just as comfy - can't tell the difference.
