Safety Goggles

I need a pair of safety goggles for doing a few grinding and cutting tasks. Screwfix is nearest...

Any particular recommendations? Bolle have been my go-to for safety glasses but I presume that glasses aren't really suitable for grinding. I have reasonably good eyesight, by which I mean that I dont wear glasses, so dont need protection to fit over glasses.

I used to use only Bolle but switched to Uvex recently as they don't (in my opinion) fog as easily or as much.

Another bit of advice; If you drop into any motorcycle shop they will sell a small bottle of anti-fog for helmet visors. This can also help in keeping the inside of the goggles clearer longer.

I use a full face clear shield with attached ear defenders. It protects my face and saves the hassle of separate units. The shield also flips up which is really handy. Like this but with ear defenders attached.

If you are doing much grinding, the lenses will get wrecked pretty quickly, so I would buy pretty well any anti-fog, anti-scratch goggles with a decent strap for £5 to £10 and be prepared to chuck them away after a moderate amount of use. Under no circumstances would I trust safety specs or a face shield on it's own - grinding grit can get everywhere, and through small gaps with surprising frequency.
Arco do a good range, and you can try them on in their stores - in normal times at any rate.

thanks everybody. combining a couple of answers, I can get some Uvex for little over a tenner, and they will fit in the grinder box too rather than the face shield. I will probably try these out and use them as a benchmark. I dont do much grinding, and this next job is a diamond blade cutting some slates. If I buy them now I have them for the next "little grinding job", which is probably the most dangerous job there is because it is tempting to not bother with the safety gear.

I really like these, if you buy a box on ebay they are about a fiver a pair. Very comfortable, you can use them with or without the gasket and I like the strap on the back as well.

Better pic here showing the strap which is the gamechanger for me, make them fit properly and not move, but comfy as well.
