In the workshop I wear marigold cut resistant gloves when handling sharp things - mainly some router cutters, planer blades, etc - and using a knife.
I also have some grippy gloves which are great for moving larger pieces of sheet material about and avoiding splinters.
I never wear them when operating machinery.

I always wear gloves and normally have 6-7 pairs on the go at any one time. Different gloves for different tasks and I'm always swapping gloves as tasks vary during the day.
Waterproof/Breathable
Lightweight/Thicker
Thin/Thermal
Riggers/Chainsaw

I also suffer from Reynauds so the cold weather gets to my fingers quite easily. I find these gloves particularly good if working outside at this time of year.

I haven't come across the Uvex safety gloves before now, but I'm going to try some as I've been reluctant to wear any gloves where snagging is going to cause a danger, although I think cold fingers that are insensitive could be dangerous anyway.

I worked in the building trades and have severe contact dermatitis. After a couple of hours at work my hands would be cracked and bleeding. After trying all the hand lotions and creams without success about 20 years ago I started wearing 8 mil nitrile gloves at work, in the shop and in the yard and solved the problem. Also, on the plus side I got a note from the doctor that said I was not allowed to do dishes or laundry or toilet cleaning. Anything that got my hands in soapy water.
