Hi,

Does anyone have any opinions on this type of dust collection, or does anybody have one?

On offer at the moment for £40 and was wondering whether go dive in and get one.

It's the bucket type where it saves your vacuum getting full, and claims no loss of suction, so I suppose even with that it saves you money buying less bags.

Any opinions, worth the money?

Phil

I have got the Triton version and they could just have a different name for the Rutland one.

It is permanently attached to my router table and it definitely works for me, (I need to empty the bucket) and it is attached to an old upright hoover and that does not accumulate any dust which means the box system is working as should.
tempted to get another one for my belt and disk sander. but no spare hoover at the moment

I have a couple of these linked to cheap second hand vac's comes with it's own filter and works perfectly without the need for a cyclone. I did use a home made cyclone but this works just as well. Quick and easy to empty. The filter bolcks up but the vac filter did when connected to the cyclone as it doesn't collect the fine stuff.

I was just looking at that myself, the only problem I thought of was having that in addition to my "Henry" to always be in the way in my garage workshop
I suppose you could site them together on a custom built trolley with maybe a vented cover

I wouldn't cover it. The vac generates heat which needs to go somewhere.

Hi Grayorm
That looks quite substantial what are they made of?
Plastic or metal

I've looked through all the advertisements from different suppliers selling this at various prices but the one thing I can't find out is the hose length and diameter.

Can you help please?

I may pop in to machine mart today and have a look at one if I do I will measure hose length & diameter

Hi Roger. Just been for a look. I make the outside dia 45 ish mm. As you can see from the pictures I have cut off the steel end that comes with the tube and fitted a piece of 1 1/2" waste pipe. The length of the hose is about 1 Metre when it arrives.

The bench is on castors and the whole thing moves with the bench.

Thanks for the very comprehensive answer! I'll be getting one. :)
