I have found their customer service to be very good. I ordered something from them, got it within a day or so as usual and then got an email with the item I had received discounted. A bit tongue in cheek I emailed them saying I was miffed that the item was now reduced and they credited my card with the difference.

I may be wrong, but are not Rutlands and Axminster just two branches of the same business? I think you will find they are if you do a Companies house search.

from the rutlands website

About Rutlands
Rutlands is a family owned and managed business dedicated to supplying premium quality, premium performance woodworking tools and equipment...... MD Mark Taberner

from the axminster website

axminster tool centre is a family buisness built on a foundation of strong customer service values .....MD Ian styles, Chair Bernie Styles

so to lay it rest once and for all they are both family buisnesses , but they are not the same family. ](*,)

That's what they want you to believe........

The Taberner-Styles family.

No Jake its the Taberneroni family and the Stylesetti family the latter are from the west side and run the tool rackets they recently allowed a couple of their henchmen (may have been "Fat Clemenza") set up operations in High Wycombe and eventually when the move to Nevada is complete they may start their own family.
