rutlands clamps wont open

just got these clamps Parallel Jaw Clamps - 1200mm x 95mm - Pack of 4 × 1 from rutlands how do i open them i seem to be at a loss cant find a way to open them? i got 4 600mm clamps i bought a few years ago and no problem opening them but they were built buy sealey

The ones like a bessey k body? they lock like an F clamp, you have to tilt the sliding head or pull up the handle and it disengages.

got them to work required a hammer to loosen them

Were they Dakota clamps. ? Mine are useless - the head keeps sliding and won't engage on tightening - and I bought ten of the perishing things. !
