You shouldn't use Veg oil, Olive oil etc as it will go rancid apparently. I'm no expert on these things though, i'm sure asking or searching under the finishes board will prove fruitful. :ho2

Thanks for that Matty , hope you dont mind but ive pinched a couple of your ideas to fill in some missing xmas pressies :wink: I had some lumps of oak sitting in the greenhouse (and she thought the greenhouse was for flowers :roll: ) that were not big enough for anything really now they have been put to use 8)
