So in the new year i would like to start building a router table, But which router? I know this topic has been recently but not purely for permanently use in a table. So what are my options?
Only requirement i have is it must be 1/2 inch.

I'd go for a CMT - the Orange one. Axminster do them and they're often on special offer. They're a clone of the Elu 177e and (I think) exactly the same as the 1/2" Dewalt. I have 2 - 1 is permanently in the table & 1 for larger routing jobs....excellent machines.

Chris.

Main concensus seems to be the Triton or the Trend T11.

Both appear very popular and well regarded for table use by those who have them.

I have the T11 and think it's great !

Probably best take a look at both and see what you think.

Cheers, Paul. :D

Agree on the T11 - it's the one I use and it's excellent. 2000 watts and minutely adjustable, lovely smooth bearings and very quiet. If I needed anything meatier I'd be looking at a spindle moulder (which I am not).

The Triton has above-the-table bit changing built in (i.e., no need for a collet extension) and very good dust collection shrouds. The rack-and-pinion mechanism, together with the micro-adjuster, makes for easy height setting, throughout the plunge range. Review here if you need it.

I have a Dewalt 626 permanently set up in the table with a Jessem lift. 2300 watts so plenty of oomph.

It does everything I need.

I have both of the two routers one would consider as most suited to table use, Triton and Trend T11(dewalt)

I would have to say the Triton would be my choice for table only use, whereas if you intedn to use it in the table and with occasional handheld use, then the T11

I have the Hitachi MV12 permanantly mounted in my table and fine it perfect. It has enough power for anything I throw at it. I have the De Walt 625E for hand held use and it seems as good as this. Plenty of plunge and with the base plate lugs cut off handles large diameter cutters too.

Just trying to work out a list of other items to get. Table insert ??? Do i buy or make a fence??? MDF top or a piece of kitchen worktop i have lying around???
