Router Jigs

Thinking about building a dado router jig. I like the idea of using angle aluminium, it seems as a good way to achieve a quick straight edge. Just wondering if this is a good way to go? Any recommendations of source , type and size. Starting with a 1/4 inch router

Yes! But a jig is just a tool, whatever works is good enough. Getting the base thin is useful for getting the max depth of cut so using acrylic or similar as the running surface at the bottom helps and clear stuff helps you see better

Festool mfs400 or mfs700 - work great but it's not a cheap solution...

Cheaper option would be the Makita router adaptor, fits several makes including Katsu shown. If no track, would be easy enough to make one from ply and square section.
