I want to use rout several parts from 18mm mdf sheets. I am making jigs at moment and going to use guide bush on router rather than bearing guided bit. I was going to have them cnc machined but the cost quoted is stupidly expensive.

Guide bush will work with 6mm bit and I realise only cut about 5-6 per pass. My question is which but to use, What is best diameter to use and which make Type would be best for cutting. Is 6mm best diameter for cutting or use smaller cnc tooling.

Many thanks

Dave

Is there a reason for that? A bearing guided bit is normally a little more accurate than a guide bush (it doesn't vary if the orientation of the router changes) plus it can take a much bigger bite than a 6mm router bit.

I thought about using guide bush as I have them for my dove tail jig. Ihave no problem using them just don't have any at moment. I have had problems with using them if that's better way to go
