I need to buy a router, initially to just do some chamfering on some exposed Oak beams on a new landing I have made but in the near future a lot of skirting and door/doorframe moulding which will probably be best with a table. The wood is only Oak. I may even try a raised panel or two. I would like to do a bit more research but I need to finish the landing now. I have searched the forum and looked on the net and I think I have narrowed it down to the Makita 3612c , trend T11 or the triton TR001 . Never having used a router I don't know what features are good or just sales patter, what I am trying to avoid is buying one then realising ( for example) that micro adjustment is a great idea. The other alternative is get a cheepy to get the chamfering done. Any feedback welcome

Thanks

Ian

That really is something!!

From the selection you've given us though, I own the Makita 3612C and would certainly another one! Cannot compare it to the Trend though as I've never used one. But, the electronic brake stops the cutter within seconds on mine! I love it and use it all the time for freehand work. :)

Problem is.............

"She" is gonna spot this one among all the yellow routers.
Sigh, another ear bashing.........

I dont think it comes with a side fence thats an extra never seen that before on any router.

I does look good though :D
