My woodturner head says beech. However, my cook head says treat your mum to a really good rolling pin - either a marble or a ceramic one!

If you are going to use pva glue make sure it is the waterproof type or the glue will become active when it is washed and it will start to fall apart Titebond do a very good one
 
the everbuild d4 is good- i got mine from toolstation and it is much cheaper than titebond.

just be careful of temperature- probably best to bring it inside to cure at this time of year unless the workshop is heated.
 
Ok fellas, ill have a look at that, so many ideas my head hurts thinking about all the possibilities!. I would treat the old girl 2 a marble pin but she's already got 1 & hates it so me being new to this & her now thinking I'm some kind of wood turning expert after a couple of weeks has decided I'm going to do it!. To be honest I'm looking forward to it, I love a challenge!.
