There is no need to cut the weld as the bottom of the leg is riveted to the bar that comes off it ( if that is clear ).
So all you need to do is drill out the rivet, cut the square bar and rivet the foot back on.

If you look at the square bar that come off the round foot, you should just see the rivet

( try ne-largeing the pic on screwfix )

Sorry Colin. I actually phrased that badly. I was just trying to sugest that IF a problem with the stand occured later (thru say a manufacturing fault)I'd not have a leg left to stand on :shock: :lol:

Mark..maybe they've changed the design as I'm sure I checked mine before posting and found them to be at your height. I'll check again when I get home in a couple of days. At £16.99 I'd take the risk of something going wrong in the future...unlikely IMHO since there's nowt much to them to go wrong.

i dont' know you are the 20th customer this week we have told that there
is no demand for a shorter roller stand :lol: :lol: :twisted: :roll:

frankly however i think for less than 35 quid, worrying about warranty is
not too sensible. save the aggro for a machine which costs at least
a hundred pounds and up.

colin is i think right, cut off the bolt and then re set the foot higher up to lower the top. then cut off the bottom. the respray with car black, and i would guess that screw fix don't even check returns..

Pecker,
i have those from screwfix, just nipped in the ol` shed, mine drop to 630mm on the roller (not the ballraces) and thats with some play,
the "leg" actually touchs the floor before the roller bracket bottoms out on the stand ... if that makes sense??? :shock:
IIRC i only paid £16.99 a pair, not the single units theyre selling now, but they look the same.
