This ribbon box is made up of butternut, lacewood, and Maple. I laminated the bows and ribbons with 1/4ins strips of
maple and satinwood, the main box is made of butternut.

The fret box was originally meant to be a jewellry box, but I decided to modify it a bit by adding a cherry wood inscription
the inscription is detachable. I made two 1/8ins holes either side of the cherry and inserted dowels through the frets
then I dry fitted to wooden discs to secure it at the other side, the box it's self is made of Ash.

I just as well give up now, I don't have enough years left to reach a standard like that.

Very nice work, but also would have liked bigger photo's.

The first pictures made it look good, but the second set make them look superb !! Love all the detail in the ribbons

Glad to see you got the pictures right Harry , beautiful work thanks for showing it .

Whatever I was thanking Stevebuk for apart from his always helpful advice to me will probably surface in another post .

very nice love the ribbon box can i ask how you made it / is the middle sandwiched between a top and a bottom out of single pieces ? if it is then i reckon a few guys on here could attempt the shape as it not a complex shape to cut if you tell me you dove tailed each section then ive no chance !!

my problem is one getting wood like maple to that thickness for the top and bottom and sourcing thatkind of wood i would be interested in how you got it so thin.

the ribbon well thats a different story ! think bit out of my league but i could put a knob on top (hammer)

well done looks lovely
