SWMBO is looking at a pair of Parker Knoll wing chairs on the Bay, saying they would be nice if re-covered. Can anybody give me a rough idea of re-upholstery cost for the pair?

there's some cowboys out there offering to do a chair for 3-400 quid, but you gets what you pay, the last polsterer we used was in Chipping NOrton and he does a real good job, but he is not cheap.

When I had the cushions made for my chair and stool in aniline hide this year it cost 350 quid. To do those chairs will cost a lot if you want a proper job, most of the time/cost will go on making the patterns for example

You could look at this from a different angle. Why not buy the chairs and enrol on an evening class upholstery course if you have one locally. There are quite a few out there and also some very good books as well. If you dont want to start on the expensive chairs I am quite sure you could pick up some chairs at a local auction to practice on for a quid each. Upholstery is good fun and very satisfying. I have an old aunty who did precisely that when she retired from teaching a few years ago and she has turned out some amazing pieces.

Not quite what you are asking, but one or two companies used to do tailored covers to fit on Parker Knoll chairs. Not as good as re-upholstery, but infinitely better than those stretch monstrosities.

Yes, I have seen some of those - they actually look quite good, and have the aded advantage of being washable. Always a bonus with a 2 year old about...
