:) beginning to wish I hadn't asked :)

So the Trend seems to come out pretty well even if it doesn't meet the same standard. Can I ask Chas why you didn't get on with it ?

Some caution needed here, The original version of the Trend Pro was too heavy for me to be comfortable with although it was superior at keeping the scalp cool and better reverse flow rating than the PowerCap IP. which is not the unit linked to above.

I don't know if the weight of the current Trend unit has been reduced by changing battery spec. or similar.
I have not seen one or the current specifications so a thorough check and a personal fit trial is in order if looking to purchase.

The Original Trend Pro (THP2) was a superior device to the PowerCap IP (THP1) as far as filtration rating of the complete hood.

As a matter of interest Mark, I presume your latest purchase was for the replacement of the 3M unit, do you mind revealing which one you ended up with?

My 3M is still going strong but I'm aware that I'll more than likely have a £200-300 purchase decision at some time if I live long enough to use up the wood stocks.

My 3M Dustmaster is still going strong. It was actually for a face visor one of my students recommended and for which there has been a lot of interest in at demos I've done. I got one of these https://www.cromwell.co.uk/PUL9601724M unaware at the time that there was a cheaper version with an uncoated visor http://www.lawson-his.co.uk/honeywell-1011623-pulsafe-bionic-complet-p156761 It's the most comfortable visor I've come across. If you look carefully in the second link it shows a recommended list price comparable with the first which gives the impression they are the same item.
