I have just sized and planed some douglas fir and it seems to be leaking resin. I have found one source, a small crack and I have wiped the offending area with white spirit, but there seems to be more. Does anyone know how I seal it. It is for a window frame that will be painted, will alluminium primer seal it in. Thanks Geoff

i usually cut the pocket of resin out with a 1/8 chisel as far as practical, then 2 pack filler/ sealer ontop before paint.
not had a problem yet. try and tesselate the imperfection to the unseen edge of the window or into a rebate

Ali primer is very good for sealing resin, but if it's weeping heavily it's best to do as suggested in above post

Thanks for the advice the two pack filler seems to have works and it has stopped leaking.....and I learnt a new word...tesselate...thanks for that too.!. Geoff
