I had a few good experiences with LN customer service too. Once my #8 had a very small chip at the mouth (in the casting)...I got a replacement even before I had time to send out the original (along with profuse apologies). At that time the USD was very high compared to the CDN$, so they in effect trusted me with a small fortune. Another time a friend of mine bought a used LN large shoulder plane off of Ebay. WHen he got it we realized that the bed was not properly milled; he contacted them and they sent him a replacement, again, before he had a chance to send his out, and yet again, with apologies. And this was for a plane he bought second hand! Around here most of the time once the garantee has run out so has customer support.
