well, if for example I write all my messages on the job, or whilst on a train, or whilst waiting in the queue at the supermarket, I won't have lost any time ;-)

Good point Dave. I only read forums on fixed computers and thankfully don't have time to kill on trains etc anyway.
I shop at ALDI where the checkout is so fast you have to stay alert!

My underlying point was go and give something a go on one clamp and repeat if successful.

Cheers

Of course no one here would put their broken metal clamps in the landfill bin, they would put them in what ever type of recycle bin they have for metal, or drop them in the metal bin at the local depot.
I can imagine that my grandchildren will have a new career option open to them, Landfill Mining.

The replace or repair decision is a difficult one, but I think I'll have to retire from my day job before I will ever manage to work my way through my ever growing repair bin, if I don't run out of space for it first. This is of course closely related to the Quality vs Price decision.

Keep checking the Aldi "special buys" offers. They do sets of h/d clamps that are pretty good (and cheap)
but you have to buy them in sets of different sizes.

No aldi in south tyrol ;-)

The equivalent shops sell low quality expensive ones!
