Remove dark stains on oak veneer coffee table

Hi, I am hoping someone could give me some advice here. I have this oak veneer coffee table here, which has a dark stain on the table top. It looks like part of it has peeled off as well. Could anyone advise what is the best way to remove the stain and repair this? Much appreciated!
