Rapesco Electric nail gun.
I bet my Rapid Electric nail gun is worse than your Rapesco. Mine's guaranteed to bugger up glazing beads

freud 2000 router, bought 3 off them, all have had a melt down within 2 years, can't handle continual use

doc - why did you buy the second and third ones of the same make after the first one died so soon?

For some reason I once thought this was a good idea -

Note the precision adjusters, quality plastic tote, and nice tight mouth -

Anyway, I've been taking the tablets for a while now and I am feeling a lot better

I have to ask, why don't you just take the damn things back at get your money back. All things in this country come with a guarantee for at least 12 months.

As for me...the triton gear would be great - if I could get all the little niggles out of it and if I could get a bloomin' rip fence to replace the one that is out of square. Its becoming a long labour-intensive exercise in remanufacture. At least I didnt pay full price for it that's all I can say.

A set of JML screw extractors. I find these are totally useless, as they work like a drill in reverse and instead of gripping the screw head they drill into it.

I had one of those (the stanley plane)!!!!!!!!!! In fact I still have it somewhere, complete with broken handle. Not the best plane I have ever used, true, but it has dug me out of a couple of holes so I am loath to bin it.

As to other rubbish, Ryobi 250mm table saw - fell apart almost - gave it away, along with a Ryobi router and router table - which I used once and gave that away.
There was also a biscuit jointer - Far East Tools was the name - this thing burnt the slot rather than cut it, and yes, I gave that away as well.

I am now looking to purchase some rather better quality 'stuff' before returning to the land of cheese and wine.

That's interesting - I assume you're talking about a LOT of use?
Oh, you'd probably be amazed how quickly a trade shop can kill routers. This week we've just written off a DW625 (under warranty) and two DW615s. That's exceptional, but it can happen.

As for regrettable tools, pretty much everything with the Skil or Black & Decker names on them

Silverdrive Statesman Lathe

Still I was lucky to sell it to someone on hear  ( Cry - Cry )

If I remember think his name was Rizla :p

or was it Wizzer \:D/

He may of had a Woodfast before the Statesman

Also read somewhere on here he may be getting a green one next 8)

Silverdrive Statesman Lathe  ...

What you mean that pathetic tinny little lightweight red thing?

Yeah horrid isn't it, I believe he's going to let me have it for next to nothing when the green one arrives

Well, you never know. I'd be a lot more serious about looking for something If I could find any damn space. I keep looking at the pile of Oak in the woodstore outside the workshop, and wondering how a machine would fare out there. Be flippin cold in winter though.

Get a big lathe, they chuck out loads of heat ;) Or the rest of your timber storage could go out there. Then you have plenty of room over in front of the bandsaw.

Is that a round slope I can see ??

oi , i believe i had first dibs on the brm when wizer gets bored (see earlier thread)

still no matter - i'm sure blister will shortly be selling the big green monster ......when he buys an even bigger lathe, so i'll bagsie that instead ;)

in turn Pete, I have bagsy on the BGM

never mind - you buy it from blister........... then i'll buy it from you for a £k less 6 months later ....... you know it makes sense ;)

swimbo would probably kill me anyway - we agreed that my large white machine aka LWM (ax 1200) would last me for several years

I was just on the verge of buying another lathe, when a leak developed in the hot water tank, straight after that, the water softener packed up.
next day the upstairs electric shower stoped working. Day later SWMBO said, "I don't know whether I should tell you this but the upstairs toilet seems to be leaking".
All in the the same week :?
Several hundred green notes and much hair tearing later, it seems to have settled down. (still to sort the softener yet)
Ah well, :? :? tis all sent to try us.
