Record resin quick vice

Found two of these one good one in need of repair. Stamped Record made in England. Any clues on where or how to use them? Thanks. Record Quick Vice

Never seen one before but by the looks of it its a plastic vice for the most basic DIY. Better than no vice at all but would be very limiting. Looks like you bolt the black base to the worktop and the vice attaches to that with the cam thingey. Play around with it and see what works.

Same as any vice i expect.

Having 2 is probably a better idea, so you can clamp longer sections for planing, drilling etc

Basically pull it open, place thing/wood/pipe etc, them push the jaws back together and use the knob to tighten up.

Thanks for responses so far. I was thinking these might be off a portable work bench for drop saw or something similar. Will have a play and see what works.
