Hello fellow woodworkers (and all the others too)!

Finally managed to get my tools shipped from Portugal to me, here in Scotland. But my lovely Joiner No7 had a accident on the way... the lever cap got broken on the bottom edge (weird... how the heck they manage this...). Does any one know were i can get a replacement part here in the UK? I've tried evilbay and google but no luck :( I don't mind if the replacement it's not an original Record one... as long as it works the same or better I don't mind ;)

Thanks for the help :)

I see you found what you need, but to note- at least with stanley planes, 4-1/2, 5-1/2, 6 and 7share the same blade, chipbreaker, frog and lever cap.

Are you sure it wasn't damaged before being shipped? Lever caps are sometimes used as screwdrivers for the cap iron screw and their edges tend to be chipped.

I have a Record lever cap for a No. 7 if you are unable to find one. Shipping from the U.S. for such a small item couldn't be that bad, otherwise it's yours for the asking. Just pay shipping.

Cheers,

Charles

Thank you all for the tips and offers, I've ordered one from Workshop Heaven (with some other bit's I was looking for) and it's on his way :)
The Record No7 Joiner needs a 2"3/8 wide lever cap so the Stanley ones don't fit (I've got a spare one from a broken stanley and no good). It's weird how it end up broken on the way, I did pack it when i was on holidays back in Portugal, it was wrapped with bubble wrap (the plane was completely disasembled for space saving) and it was the only thing broken in transit. Anyway, I know i should make a complain but I can't be bothered for the trouble... Thank you guys! You were a great help :)

Cheers!!!
