God yes! I must have Gigabytes of stuff from Archive.org and a few other sources.

By double boiler do you mean a bain marie type affair? Pot in a pot?

Yes that. If you're using gas the open flame is still there so it doesn't completely remove the risk of fire but as it keeps the temperature moderate it reduces it a lot.
