We've just fitted a double door frame where the previous occupants had ripped it all out. I now need to fit architrave to tidy up. The frame is level with the plasterwork at the sides, so that bit's easy-peasy.
Unfortunately, above the frame has been artexed (I really love those former occupants), so it's proud by a few mm. Can anyone suggest how I can rebate the architrave without the benefit of a rebate plane or router? Is it feasible to attack a 6' length with a chisel? I could chase away at the artex, but that'll be a right messy job, and probably as much effort.
Many thanks
