I'm fitting a flight of stairs tomorrow, that I made a couple of weeks ago, and taking out the old ones.
I'm wondering what to make out of the 10" treads and 9" risers x 36" long, any ideas please?
In old pine, It would be rather a shame to end up in the Rayburn!
(Any ideas on a postcard please)!
Regards Rodders

Rodders:

If the treads are as wide as on my stairs, there would surely be enough timber for a decent tool-chest; should you need one.
It would mean rub-jointing to get the right depth in the chest, but to make something like the 'Anarchist's Tool Chest', you'd have to do that anyhow if you used new pine.

Just a thought.

Shame I am not closer as I would suggest donating a few my way haha.

other than that a jewellery box would be something a little different.

I look at a tree, I wonder how many sideboards are in it.
How many jewellery boxes in a flight of stairs! :D

I shall never look at a flight of stairs in quite the same way again Mark!
