On a side note better have on real thick leather gloves....and always approch from their rear end,grab their head just behind the ears and with the other hand grab them between the ribs and back legs...same as grabbing a Mink.Its the same family,come to think of it thats the same way you grab snakes.Oh and they can roll around in their skins so hang on tight...only thing meaner I grabbed hold of was a grandpa racoon,he almost had me for dinner instead of the other way round.25 lbs of fighter and that was after he kicked 3 dogs butts,climbed a tree and me had to go up after him 60 ft in the air.

About a dozen times just learning how to handle them...an I had a pro teaching me.I later went to the Pet store and some people were interested in the cute little ferrets"Do they bite "she asked .Oh no they are gentle,he said....My daughter who was bitten as much as I was said if you believe him have him take one out to show you...well he did and for his troubles he had a tatto in the middle of his thumb.The lady asked if we knew anyone with tame ones and my daughter said yes we know someone US but you can tame your own.
 
Nope not down my trowser leg,I did have it around my neck at the forth of July Fire works.After the first explosion he was into my armpit shivering....
