Well,
The wife beat me to it. It was my birthday on Sunday - and she has been reading my posts apparently ! - She ordered me a saw and it was waiting for me when I got home.
It's a Draper. Not the biggest machine, but will fit 4.5 ( 120 mil ) inches with comfort into the blade, which will do me ( i'd be afraid of putting bigger blanks on the poor DML ! )
I tensioned the blade, had to adjust the back thrust bearing, and the guides, and had a test.
Cross cutting through 4 inch of mahog, and 2 inch of oak no bother ( hot knife in butter ) Ripped down 2 foot of oak plank with similar ease.
The blade that came with it is doing the job, so i think i will stick with it till i am told more ! ( I have a club member coming over to give me some instruction, and to show me some sleds to make )
Loz
