Was making such a hash of another job, decided to repair the rear handle off the Type 9 Stanley No6 I aquired a while back. Decided to ignore the advice about creating just a single plane glueing surface and cut a suitable piece of rosewood off an odd bit I had lying round. Glued, clamped and left for 24 hours then set to to shape. Not a work of art, but it makes the plane useable. Treated the whole thing with boiled linseed oil, which unfortunately darkened the new wood more than was wanted. But made up for the hash of the other job!
