Could anyone measure the exact thickness of a Festool domino, and if possible the thickness of the mortise. Is the 8mm bang on 8mm or is it around 8.3mm?
I noticed today that my Festool domino xl is cutting slightly oversized mortises. I have tried a few cutters and I’m getting 0.2 to 0.3mm over thickness. I measured this with a reliable set of Calipers and tried a few different cutters.
Tbh I have no idea whether it has always been like this (I’ve had it 7 years) because I always make my own tenons, and plane them till they are a snug fit. I only noticed because I bought some trend tenons and they were sloppy.
Thanks

I don't have a domino anymore but I've still got a few leftover dominos (festool ones). Measured 10 and they mostly seem to be around 8.2mm. Thinnest 8.15 and thickest 8.24

I don't recall using the 10mm (I had the Df500) but all the other sizes were very tight when dry fitting and usually required pliers.
